The 51st State Cafe was situated right next door to Pythagoras.
This was Glasgow’s first American styled diner. The waitresses skated around the premises in their roller skates wearing short denim skirts. Serving Hamburgers, steaks, Chilli. There was a soda fountain plus cocktails at the bar.
The full name of the cafe was the 51st State Drugstore Cafe.
