This popular bar is situated on the Main Street on the opposite side from Angels.

It is mainly a mans pub, very clean and a good pint is served.

Thank to Mr Tyre for this wonderful photograph. His father worked in a pub in Blantyre and had a collection of postcards and images.

The owner of the pub was landlady Mrs John Stewart.

The owners of the bar would never have thought that one day modern cars would be sitting outside their premises and still trading over one hundred years later.

Email from Jimmy MC… The pub was formerly owned by Mr J P McGill, when he left the pub the prices increased and the place has went downhill since. 2008.

This very old pub has been known in recent years as “The Anvil Inn.” “The Anvil.” “Anvil.” “The Crafty Fox.”
