Mr Peacock, baker, cook, confectioner and purveyor of Paisley Road Toll, Albert Cross, Pollokshields and Kessington Terrace, Ibrox, representative of the fourth generation of bakers by direct descent. Following in his fathers footsteps, at a comparatively early age entered into the business, starting at the bottom of the ladder and working his way to becoming a great baker and cook. To master his trade and experience he left Scotland to work with the stilful chefs in Paris.
Returning to Glasgow after gaining the skills and art of cooking, he joined his father.
