1573 Shettleston Road, Shettleston, Glasgow. G32 9AS.
The Sheiling. 1991.

The Sheiling Bar, August 2005. closed down.
I passed here a few days ago and the place looks as if it could fall down any minute. it is in a state with the signs all smashed up with graffiti on the walls and every window is smashed. The owners have stupidly put up a large advertising poster stating “Would you like to run this pub.”
It is now a community Hall.

Ian Livey says
I would be interested in any other information about this pub. I believe it belonged to the Livey family over many years. At least, there are records of them owning a “shop” at 1571 Shettleston Road and they were wine and spirit merchants by trade. They also owned a store at 1567 Shettleston Road which seems to match to the older photo of the pub. I can also recall a post-funeral gathering at the building shown in the 1991 photo. So I assume that the family still had an association with the pub at this point in time. If anyone has any information related to the Sheiling and the Livey family, I would love to hear about it.

My mom is 88 years old . She remembers her Dad going to a bar she called “Livey’s”
Had to be in the 40’s . Her dad would also go to gartocher bar across the street.
Funny she asked me to look it up and I saw your name.
