A taste of the good life at the “Board Room.”
The Craigdhu Bar is probably well-known to most Paisley buddies. Recently the pub at 4 Calside, Paisley, has been receiving a bit of a facelift. An army of joiners, plasterers, and electricians have completely renovated the premises.
What was formerly the public bar and lounge is now one large lounge, and the off-sales is now a beautiful private room used for “boardroom” lunches.
The Craigdhu is owned by the Findlay brothers John, Jim, and Bill. They also own the Titwood Bar and the Victoria Bar on the south side of Glasgow.
It’s John Findlay who’ll be in charge of the Craigdhu.
CHANGE
“We are offering a new lounge bar with comfortable surroundings, quiet background music, and good service,” said John.
The Craigdhu will be serving food in the lounge bar during lunchtime. We do plan to change the menu often, because we found in the Titwood Bar that people were coming in every day and were looking for something new,”. John Findlay said.
But it is the “boardroom” that makes the pub that little bit different.
When I visited the pub it was set out for a lunch. There was a beautiful oval-shaped table laid out with cutlery, dishes, wine glasses, even silver candelabra.
Dishes include honeydew melon and parma ham, smoked fillet of mackerel, chicken suedoise or roast duckling, and orange sauce, and to finish, how about peach cardinale or fresh strawberries and cream?
“We think the “boardroom” will be the ideal place for local business men to bring clients for lunch. They will be able to carry out any discussions in complete privacy,” Mr Findlay said. The “boardroom” can take a maximum of 14 people.
The Craigdhu Bar is open seven days a week until 11pm. It is closed between 2.30 pm. and 5 pm. each day.
