The Kenny McNicol (my old boss) Trio used to play downstairs. Ron Moore who played in the Tommy Maxwell Quartet on the One O’Clock Gang, played with Ken a lot.

I used to work there 69/70, night time job. Met my hubby there. We came to Australia in 1977. Managers name then was Sammy Cranston if I remember rightly and head barmaid was Liz
My Dad was Sam Cranston. I have such great memories of The Whitehall and all the staff and customers!!
We’d often go to the the Odeon across the road and I’d enjoy going with my dad to 23rd precinct to pick records to play on the hi-fi in the downstairs lounge
