Dr Lorn Macintyre says
I was in Glasgow last night, searching Buchanan Street for the Ivanhoe Hotel of fond memory. Has it been demolished (and when), or incorporated into a new building? Regards
Dr. James Stewart says
My wife and I used to have a drink there prior to theatre. In fact we spent a little time there on our wedding night, before catching a train to Edinburgh for honeymoon!! Fond memories, have been married 57 years now, live in America, retired from a satisfying career in optometry. Retired 72 years old, now in Florida. Born in Coatbridge.
Bernard McKenna says
As a Drama Student round the corner, 1963-1966, we rarely drank there as it was too expensive. However, on Sundays when the pubs were closed and hotels were open we’d sometimes pay a visit. They wouldn’t serve pints, only half pints. I remember 6 of us going in there and ordering 12 half pints and getting asked to leave.
