My father’s ancestors lived in Nantucket, MA – many were whalers – one ancestor saved a letter written to him from Nantucket in Nov 28, 1865 – it was written Care of ( Tait??) to Spring bank, Garscube Road. What would have been there in 1865? Did any pubs with lodging exist then?
