This venue has had a few name changes in recent years such as: Hubbards, The Wise Monkey, Brewdog “Crafty Pig”, LUCA Little Urban Achievers Club

The Viper at the corner was formerly called Cleopatra’s it was soon to become well known all over the city as Clatty Pat’s by the locals. This photograph was taken in 2009.

Update…2009

Hubbards has been closed since August 2009. For six months the doors have been closed.

Update…2010

Hubbards is now called The Wise Monkey. It was opened on Thursday 25th February 2010. Manager Graham Sutherland now runs a music venue there. Graham is not new to the Glasgow pub trade, he opened EI Sabor in the Merchant City. Good luck with your new venture, I’m sure it will be a success.

Calypso Bar. 1991.

This pub opened its doors in 1960 and was owned by popular publican William Martin.

In the last ten years this pub has had a complete make over it also had a name change the Hogshead. A Whitbread alehouse with a fine selection of real ales. Another name that it’s had over the years is J.D. Simpsons Bar. It is now called Blas, a fine cafe, bar, restaurant.

Golfing Vintners’ Big Night Out.

The Glasgow Vintners Golf Club’s annual dinner and dance and presentation of prizes in the Eagle Lodge, Bishopbriggs, was a tremendous Success.

In recent years this pub has had some name changes including Museo, Blas and now The West Bar. 2010.

The Lock Inn. Yet another name change.

Up-To-Date News 2014…

BrewDog, 2014.

This great pub is now called the BrewDog.

Just like all BrewDog bars, BrewDog Glasgow is another lynchpin in their mission to get more people passionate about craft beer; beer that is free from preservatives, additives and potentially harmful chemicals.
