Up-To-Date News 2014…

BrewDog, 2014.

This great pub is now called the BrewDog.

Just like all BrewDog bars, BrewDog Glasgow is another lynchpin in their mission to get more people passionate about craft beer; beer that is free from preservatives, additives and potentially harmful chemicals.

An antidote to the swathes of grubby drinking dens and high street chains that have blighted the availability of decent beer for years on end, come and say hi to us at BrewDog Glasgow to become part of the growing craft beer revolution.

Do you have memories of this great bar. If so please leave a comment and we will post your views.

END.

My Daddy Jimmy Bradley managed this pub under the ownership of Bill Martin for many years , not sure exactly when but definitely through the sixty and seventies. I have very fond memories of visiting the pub after a trip to the kelvin hall where we got free tickets to go to the carnival courtesy of the travellers who would frequent the pub and became friendly with my dad.

      Hi Clare,
I worked part time in the Calypso when your dad was the Manager along with Corrie. Your dad was a gentle giant with a very even disposition. I was there from 1969 to 1974.

Flipping heck Charlie, I just went down a rabbit hole about Glasgow as Bridget is there at the moment. My thoughts went to Dowanhill Street and the Calypso Bar. What a coincidence.

Bill Martin was my Great Uncle- and my own grandfather got to know your dad quite well on his many visits to Glasgow from the states. My brother is visiting in August- you should all meet at the Brewdog!

Great ongoing history of this pub. My uncle, John Kelly was a barman there, perhaps early 70s and always spoke well of the bar and owner.
